It's the Season to Be Green!

Sorry for lack of updates in....well a long ass time. My Kans are on hold as they fight me and attempt to hide my magnets when I leave for work, so I'm trying a new brush technique using some of my boys. I'm really happy with the results so far, when I get a squad painted up fleshwise, I'll post some pictures of the skintone purely drybrushed without washes or highlights.

Kick the Kans

Been awhile since I posted, been busy and had problems with my air compressor for painting so I'll kick off one of my WiP shots.

Just picked up some Kans finally for this Ork army, going to be running it with a Grotzooka and 2 Rokkit Launchas.

In the process now of converting a deff koptas's TL rockets into a rocket on the arm. I debated doing a rokkit pod on the side, but felt that one hardwired into a mech arm is more orky and proppa.

Debating bulking up the arm when I go in to greenstuff the area around the TL. I need to get electrical wiring or guitar wires to finish up the conversion, but once I do I will load finished(painted too :D models)

My friend Neo over at The Machine Spirit has set a goal for completing his army by New Year's. We had a running joke about finishing my warboss(still not >_>). In the spirit of competition, we push each other to get our army's finished and still do a good job. Keep your fingers crossed on future updates from both blogs for some good updates, and to see which one of us wins(Da Waaagh of course....)

I can't stress on checking out The Machine Spirit sometime, he is experimenting with a very interesting glow effect based off lens optics and power weapons for space marines.

Time for Waaagh!

Been debating getting a blog started for awhile, more of a to track as I go from newbie with no painting experience to pratice willing, someone at least remotely decent. This is my first ever attempt at painting a model, period.

Just recently got into the hobby and have to say, getting started like this on an army such as the orkz is a learning process but also enjoyable. I love the sheer mutability of ork conversions and paint jobs. This is a WIP of my ork warboss, he is nearly completed but I have to fine tune some parts, and pick up either shining gold or tin bits for his shell casings and wiring. Also after I pratice a bit with chipping and highlighting, I plan on coming back and enhancing the blue with a weathering.

Any remotely constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
